- - -- - - das Volk aus der Umlage - - -- - - er für die Errettung der Bürgerunter den ersten gegeben hat sowohl für sich selbst als auchfür seine beiden Söhne den Höchstbestrag, der be-schlossen war; er bei der Anleihe derjenigen Gelder,die für die Befreiung (Athens) aufgebracht wurden,zweitausend Drachmen beigetragen hat - - -- - - [un]aufgefordert, sondern selbst von sich aus, da er dieNotlage des Volkes begriff; und jetzt, als Mangelan Geld für die Dammaufschüttung des Hafens in Zeaentstanden war, er auch bei dieser Umlage nichtzurückstand, sondern vielmehr den Bürgern sich als(um Wohltaten) wettstreitend zeigte und beitrug, was dasVolk beschlossen hatte, für sich selbst und fürseine Söhne Tharrynon und Agamedes; – Damit nunauch das Volk denen, die ihm Wohltaten leisten wollen,öffentlich das Mögliche abstattet von dem, was angemessen wäre,zu Glück und Heil!, wolle beschließen der Rat: dass dieerlosten Vorsitzenden für die kommende Volks-versammlung hierüber verhandeln lassen und die Beschlussvorlagedes Rates in die Volksversammlung einbringen, wonachder Rat es für gut befindet, dass man belobige Apollas S.d. Tharrynonaus - -on und ihn bekränze mit einem Olivenkranzwegen seines Ehrgeizes und seines Wohlwollens gegenüber dem Ratund dem Volk; dass er proxenos sein soll, er selbst undseine Nachkommen; dass sein soll für ihn auch das Recht zum Erwerb von einem Hausfür ein halbes Talent, von Land für zwei Talente; dass diesenBeschluss der Sekretär, der während der Prytanie amtiert,aufzeichne auf eine steinerne Stele und aufstelle auf der Akropolis;dass die entstandenen Kosten für die Aufzeichnungauf die Stele der Schatzmeister der Militärkassebegleiche.- - -
- - -- - - the People from the public subscription - - -- - - for the preservation of the citizenshe was among the first to donate, both on his own behalf and onbehalf of both his sons, the maximum that had been provided for in thedecree, and as regards the advance loanof money gathered in the cause of freedomhe made an advance contribution of 2000 dr., having been assessed for- - - or not having been assessed [by the People], but voluntarily endeavouring to meet thePeople's need; and now when a needhas arisen for money for the fortification of the harbour in Zea,he was not found wanting in this public subscription,but displaying himself to the citizens as an object of rivalry,he contributed to the amount the Peoplehad decreed both on his own behalf and on behalf ofhis sons Tharrhynon and Agamedes; in order thereforethat the People may be seen to be rendering to itsutmost ability what is due to those who wish to benefit it,for good fortune, the Council shall decide, that thepresiding committee allotted for the forthcomingAssembly shall put these matters on the agenda, and submitthe opinion of the Council to the People, thatit seems good to the Council to praise Apollas son of Tharrhynonof [Koloph?]on and crown him with a foliage crown,for his love of honour and good will towards the Counciland the People; and he shall be proxenos, both himself and hisdescendants, and shall have right of ownership of a houseup to half a talent, and of land two talents; and theprytany secretary shall inscribe this decreeon a stone stele and stand it on the acropolis;and the treasurer of the military fund shall allocatethe expenditure accrued for [inscribing?]the stele.[- - -?]
